Interviews with Bodybuilding Experts

Sean
Nalewanyj is a natural bodybuilding
expert and general fitness guru. Recently,
I was able to catch up with him and
learn a bit more about his
program and his life... (My comments are in black, his responses are in blue.)
Hi
Sean, thanks for taking the time to
do this interview. First off, I have
to ask – is the story true? Were
you really a skinny kid in high school?
It’s hard to believe you’ve
put on more than 80 pounds of muscle
in a matter of months…
I know
it might be hard to believe, but the
story is absolutely true. I was the
exact definition of a scrawny, unconfident
little geek. Noodle arms, big ears,
bones popping out everywhere…
Believe me, it wasn’t a pretty
sight. In fact, something I never mentioned
on my website is that I wasn’t
even allowed to register for grade 11
basketball tryouts because the coaches
claimed that the “risk of injury”
was too high. Needless to say, things
began turning around very quickly once
I made the decision to take a run at
changing my body.
How long did
it take, after you started training,
before you started seeing results? Did
you start gaining mass quickly right
away?
Well
what you have to understand is that
for a complete beginner with no real
athletic background, figuring out the
proper ways to train and eat for muscular
gains can be a next-to-impossible task.
The fitness industry is literally a
multi-billion dollar mass of money-hungry
marketers, and separating the fact from
the “fiction” is one of
the biggest stumbling blocks that beginners
face.
Just
like the vast majority of beginners
out there, I had to endure many months
of frustration and wasted effort. Quite
simply, I didn’t know what the
heck I was doing. It was only after
I completed a strung-out process of
trial and error that I was finally able
to narrow everything down to a step-by-step
science and figure out what truly worked.
Once
I came to these realizations and started
consistently putting them to use, my
body began transforming even faster
than I had originally thought possible.
And believe me, the principles that
produce the most powerful results are
NOT the “traditional” methods
that you’ve been led to believe
in.
How has bodybuilding,
and the incredible changes it’s
had on your physique, changed your life?
What did your friends and family say
about your new look?
It
has literally changed me for the better
in every possible area of my life, and
that’s no exaggeration. To go
from feeling weak, insecure and insignificant
to strong, powerful, muscular and healthy
is really something that you have to
experience in order to understand. It’s
as if my mindset took a 180-degree turn.
I don’t even feel like the same
person anymore.
My friends
and family really couldn’t believe
it either. The guy they always knew
as the “shy” and “reserved”
one all of a sudden took on a whole
new appearance and personality.
And
I won’t lie, it certainly doesn’t
hurt when trying to get women to notice
you either. Getting a date in high school
wasn’t even something I bothered
considering, and now let’s just
say I no longer have that problem =)
At what point
did you decide to write a book about
bodybuilding? Were you just tired of
friends asking, or did you think there
was money to be made?
To
be completely honest, I didn’t
originally intend to sell the information.
I had been writing articles for a lot
of big-name bodybuilding websites purely
for my own enjoyment, and the book was
really just a “muscle-building
bible” that I began compiling
as a hobby. There actually is a story
behind it, but I won’t bother
explaining it here as you can download
the first 2 chapters of the e-book to
find out for yourself… Click
here to download them now.
Now that your
book is the #1 selling muscle building
program on the internet, how has the
success of your book changed your life?
You’re basically a celebrity in
the online muscle-building community,
so how does it feel to see your name
all over the internet, and even in the
New York Times?
Oh,
it’s incredible. I never thought
that it would take off like this, but
it’s been an awesome experience.
It’s
great to be able to interact with people
from all over the world and to help
them reach their goals. I was once a
beginner myself and required advice
and tips from those who were already
experienced, so it’s great to
be able to give back. I’ve watched
firsthand as many of my members transformed
their bodies from skinny to muscular,
and that’s by far the most rewarding
part.
What kind of
benefits can someone expect to see if
they buy your book? How much hard work
is really involved?
Well,
purchasing the program on its own won’t
do a damn thing if the trainee isn’t
willing to put in the time and effort
to apply it. I can only open doors,
but I can’t drag someone through
them.
However,
IF the trainee is willing to work hard,
then they really can see some incredible
results. For a person with at least
average genetics and average recovery
ability, 3-6 months can be all it takes
to develop a standout body.
You
don’t have to spend hours and
hours in the gym, and you also don’t
have to slave away to a tedious, boring
diet plan. Hard work certainly is involved,
but you don’t have to revolve
your life around it.
But
trust me, once you start seeing rapid
changes in your muscle size and strength,
you’ll WANT to work hard. It becomes
an addiction, and something that you
truly learn to love.
What are your
plans for the future? Will you continue
to improve the book, and continue your
training? Do you have any other special
projects planned?
My
plans are to keep training hard and
to keep training others hard. Bodybuilding
is my life, and I plan to continue to
absorb myself in it to the fullest.
As new techniques reveal themselves
(everyone, even the top experts, are
continually learning new things and
evolving their strategies) I’ll
add them to my program.
I also
just recently launched a brand new website
at www.SchoolofMuscle.com. It’s
basically a gigantic forum where bodybuilding
and fitness enthusiasts from around
the world can unite to share advice,
make friends and motivate eachother
to be their best. It’s also jam-packed
with cutting edge muscle-building and
fat loss information contributed by
some of the top experts in the game.
Thanks for your
time, Sean. Best of luck with your training
in the future.
Thanks
for having me, Mike!
