Even if you’re not big into the pro bodybuilding scene, you’ve probably heard of Ronnie Coleman. The big Texan is an 8-time Mr. Olympia, tying Lee Haney’s all-time record. He’s basically the modern Arnold Schwarzenegger (only way bigger).
And Ronnie Coleman has a movie. It’s entitled “Unbelievable”, and even though it’s quite old now I feel it necessary to mention it in the blog. If you haven’t seen it, you must.
The video features Ronnie Coleman’s life during his training for the 2000 Mr. Olympia. You get to see his personal life, his diet, his cars, his part-time job as a police officer, and of course you get to see Ronnie training. Some of the most impressive training feats in the video include: 2×800lb deadlift, 12×200lb dumbbell flat bench press, and 5×585lb front squat.
In addition to the insane training motivation this video provides, there’s also a good deal of comic relief. Ronnie, probably not the sharpest tool in the tool box, has provided some very memorable lines. Who could resist imitating Ronnie famous Masterpiece barbecue sauce quote?…. “Mathtapeeth…. yep…. betht barbecue sauth there ith… mathtapeeth!”
*It’s worth noting that Ronnie now has several movies released - I haven’t yet seen them all, but it would be tough to top “Unbelievable.”
